BAJA SAE Events provide you striking avenues to market and publicize your firm and/or products. Baja’s valued associates get brandings on the team vehicles, team apparels, placards and banners, ear marked spots at the majestic BAJA site at NATRAX (National Automotive Test Tracks) facilities of NATRiP, Indore.

This could be one of the methods of advertisement and to show Corporate Social Responsibility towards the society. As a sponsor you will increase your visibility with students, faculty, volunteers, industry and other corporate sponsors.

BAJA SAEINDIA events receive first-rate media coverage both in the electronic form as well as the print media. The complete BAJA SAEINDIA Series was telecasted on national broadcasters TENSPORTS, DD National, DD Sports, ZEE Business, live feed through AAJ Tak, ZEE News, Star News, to name a few.

The event was widely publicized in the local as well as national daily newspapers and various magazines. A special edition supplement was also published along with the December 2007 and January 2009 issue of OVERDRIVE Magazine. Even well before the commencement of BAJA SAE ASIA 2010, the event is doing rounds in the media.

Personnel in Baja 2010

Weight reduction, driver foot space, 3” clearance at sides, design did not incorporate all systems well, steering went below bellypan, had to make changes after fabrication for incorporation of certain issues

Karthikeyan, Sathish, RamKumar, M.Karthick, Veerapadmanaban.

All rules followed, roll cage 3” inches clearance only not followed, steering stop not done

Amritha Kulasekharan

Too much of weight and target wheelbase was too small, weight distribution was almost 50:50, weight reduction needed

LAYOUT

Semi-trailing arm very heavy, ball joint came off during race, use better ball joint next time, wishbone and trailing arm force analysis not optimised, weight reduction

SUSPENSION

Tie rods got bent, no force analysis done, cotter pin problem, bell crank very heavy, steering knuckle to be fabricated

STEERING

Problem in brake test, passed in second attempt, tire pressure to be considered, braking force distribution

BRAKES

Lakshmi, Pravin

For innovations award as well as to assist driver and vehicle, value addition

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The main purpose of participating in Baja Asia 2010 is our auto passion and Baja is definitely one of the excellent ways to let it manifest itself into a purposeful endeavour with team members learning the basic design procedure, sorting out their issues with other sub-systems through technical discussions, appreciating the significance of the interface between design and fabrication and ultimately test it thoroughly thus making a vehicle par excellence. Besides, students also get a practical view about issues such as costing, sponsorship and marketing which play a role a paramount importance in the automotive segment.

Basically we would love to build a vehicle for a competition as exhilarating as Baja which serves as an excellent platform for students all over the nation to exhibit their skills and thus doubles up as a great learning experience.

For Baja 2009, we had a Baja vehicle which was designed for a dynamic factor of 5, thus making it very safe but also heavy. This time we would like to go for a vehicle which would be an amalgamation of frugal engineering and reliability.

We would like to experiment with different material selection and also add dynamic electronic monitoring systems during the test phase to study the vehicle characteristics for further optimization. On the whole we would like to gain automotive knowledge from this unique experience and also make our college proud by giving our deepest levels of commitment towards Baja 2010.
